This January 2023 Volkswagen of Puyallup, as a part of the Harnish Auto Family, partnered with Coffee Oasis in Pierce County to help at-risk teens. Coffee Oasis provides shelter and outreach programs for youth 13-25. We partnered with them this January and donated one item off their wish-list for each test drive taken and donated $1 per vehicle repaired through the month. Elizabeth Hoey the Community Development Manager of Coffee Oasis said, “We greatly appreciate your generosity and support of our mission. You are making a difference in the lives of youth. Thank you!”

We were so excited to be able to bring back one of our favorite events at the dealership, Jingle all the Way! We love being able to come together to see some fun, decorated VW's and fundraise toys for the holiday season and St. Francis House in Puyallup. We got some unexpected snow this year but still had a great turn out and a great time! Congratulations to our peoples choice winners - the hand painted hippie bus and the wine bus! 



 

As apart of the Harnish Auto Family we partnered with the Puyallup Food Bank this November to collect non-perishable food items. Volkswagen of Puyallup donated over 3,000 pounds of food and the Harnish Auto Family all together donated over 6 and half tons to our local food banks! Our employees really came together to all chip in and donate a whole bunch of items that were needed at the Puyallup Food Bank to help our neighbors this holiday season and beyond! 

Volkswagen of Puyallup is honored to be apart of the Harnish Auto Family who partnered with the Carol Milgard Breast Center for another year to support Breast Cancer Awareness. This year all five dealerships came together to donate over $40,000! We are so proud of our team for working so hard to reach this donation goal and are so thankful to our customers who came out and supported not only us, but this worthy organization. 

This August we donated $10 for every test drive at Volkswagen of Puyallup to put toward school supplies! Through our donations and matched donations on the site DonorsChoose, we were able to donate over $1,000 to support teacher projects in the Puyallup area! DonorsChoose is a website where teachers can post their requests for their classrooms that anyone can then choose to donate to. We were able to help Mrs. Barkley at Sunrise Elementary and Ms. Klippert at the Puyallup Digital Learning Center providing supplies for their classrooms. Here's to another great school year!

This July Volkswagen of Puyallup and the entire Harnish Auto Family held its first annual Road Trip Sales Event! With every test drive, customers were entered to win a trip that was provided by Washington's National Park Fund! They were able to help us connect with Rainier Guest Services and the North Cascades Lodge at Stehekin in order to put these awesome trips together, right in our own backyard.

In March, we bought cases of Girl Scout cookies from a local troop and gave out boxes to our customers for each test drive! Tagalongs, Thin Mints, and Samoas were given away as a tasty treat to take home to share with family and friends.

This idea for the Drive & Dine Event was born in response to the devastating impact that COVID-19 had on our neighboring local businesses during the pandemic. Each dealership in the Harnish Auto Family gave away 50 gift cards from random at-risk restaurants and given to clients who took a test drive. The gift cards ran out so fast! So fast, that we launched the 2nd Annual Drive & Dine event in January of 2022 with the same intent. 

Every year as apart of the Harnish Auto Family, Volkswagen of Puyallup participates in October's Breast Cancer Awareness month. As part of 2021's initiative, we donated for every test drive on the customers behalf. We presented a group check of over $24,000 to the Carol Milgard Breast Center from the Harnish Auto Family!
